Astral Impressions

A soul with enough conviction and willpower, driven by a task yet unfinished or determined to leave a mark on the world, may leave behind a spirit that can still interact with the world around it. A spirit is not the full manifestation of the soul in physical form, but rather an echo of sorts with a facsimile of intelligence. Spirits often display hints in their behaviour betraying the soul they originated from and sometimes even retain memories of its previous life. Spirits are not always able to communicate via voice, though they can make gestures if their shape allows them to. They have no set form, spirits can take on nearly any appearance. Generally benign, though their actions will seem illogical or confusing to most people.
Spirits born from young souls can in most cases manifest as childlike fairies, while spirits emerging from older souls tend to get more abstract the older the soul was.

Wraiths are another type of spirit; they cling to the mortal world fueled by hate and malice. Similarly to normal spirits, wraiths are but echoes of the souls that left them behind. Unlike them, though, wraiths retain no semblance of intelligence or memories. Wraiths will usually violently lash out at all forms of life.

Spirits and Wraiths alike, despite their seemingly supernatural characteristics, are simple entities. They have a single strength level, which you can see as the Proficiency Level they can use for anything they do, as well as their maximum health. More powerful spirits and wraiths will have higher strength levels, and weaker ones will have lower strength levels.
