Details
- Size: No more than 1 metre tall.
- Aggressiveness: Docile, easily frightened but quick to trust kind individuals.
- Rituals/Behaviour: Pregnant bessids give birth to a single young in a nest at the base of a mountain after a four-month pregnancy. The egg breaks moments after being ejected, and the young stay with the mother for a few weeks before becoming independent. Adults gather near mountain bases for annual summer mating, using rocks and shed fur to build nests.
- Defence: No active defence; relies on speed and hiding.
- Diet: Small insects and berries.
- Habitat: Wild populations are found on the north-eastern border of Halsand, near the mountains.
- Societal Structure: Mostly solitary or in small family groups until the mating season.
